The UK funky duo, FR3E, that brought you the dancefloor smash 'Tribal Skank' last year are back with a new single. The somewhat bizarrely titled 'I Got My Beads On' is released on March 15.
Aimed once again at the UK funky clubbers, 'I Got My Beads On' combines African inspired percussion with a deep bass. When asked exactly why they have chosen to record a song all about their necklaces, the boys explained,
"There was a time when we wouldn't leave the house without them. There's no hidden meaning - it's our look, it's that simple." Fair enough.
The 2009 smash 'Tribal Skank' was a massive hit for the FR3E pair (Big Ven and Shaun), stacking up an enormous 1/2 million YouTube plays and seeing the dance craze take over, not only clubs and parties but also the football pitch, as premiership players used the skank to celebrate their goals. With the support of the likes of Cameo, Ras Kwame and Tim Westwood, 'Tribal Skank' won the title of Best Video at last years UK Funky Live, plus support slots alongside the likes of Tinchy Stryder (read our Tinchy interiew here), N-Dubz and UK funky king, Donaeo.
'I Got My Beads On' is due out mid-March and is likely to be followed by further club singles before an album release, expected in 2011.
Here's the 'I Got My Beads On' video, look out for cameos from the likes of funky vocalist, Egypt.
