We've been waiting a long time for this and it's finally here, YAY! The much anticipated follow up to Flying Lotus' 2008 Warp Records release, 'Los Angeles', has been announced as 'Cosmogramma'. And promises to be out of this world.
Mary Anne Hobbs has been the first to champion the experimental electronic hip hop artist. Speaking to us back in December last year she said:
"An album to really look forward to, an album that will change the face of all electronic music for all time, is the next Flying Lotus album, which is due in about March or April time on Warp Records. I heard it when I was in LA in November at his house just before it was mastered and it's just the most devastating piece of work. It speaks in a completely new sonic language almost. And he's calling it a space opera, which isn't the title; it's just what he's saying about the sound of the music. It's absolutely the wildest thing I've ever heard."

'Cosmogramma' has kept its "space opera" label being branded as a "nearly infinite palate of planetary (and interplanetary) sonics". As well as all the space talk, FlyLo has gathered a strong bunch of collaborations to tempt new listeners. Erykah Badu, Outkast string arranger Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, guest vocalists Thom Yorke and a returning Laura Darlington (featured on Los Angeles' epic closing track 'Inifinitum') are all listed within the 17 strong track list.
'Cosmogramma' is set for release May 3.
Warp have kindly offered up three free Flying Lotus MP3s that you can get hold of below.
