Images

How do I upload my images?

To upload images you must first click on Edit Profile and select the
Images tab.When directed to the Edit Album page you must first
enter an Album Name,and then click Save.Your album is now ready to fill.

Click on Add Image and enter an Image Name and Description (optional)
in theboxes provided and click Choose File. Select a JPG, GIF or PNG
from your hard drive and click Save. The file is now saved within
your album; you can repeat this process until your album is full.
Once all your images are uploaded, choose one image to become your
album cover.

Your album cover will be displayed in the Images section of your profile.
You can designate an image as the cover by clicking Set As Album Cover.
This will automatically redirect you to the cropping filter. Here you
can select the portion of the image you wish to display by clicking and
dragging the corners of the highlighted cropped area and clicking Crop.

You can also set an image as an avatar (which creates a slideshow of
images for your profile page) by clicking Set As Avatar. Once again,
you will automatically be directed to the cropping filter.Remember,
optimum image width is 531 pixels.

What is an avatar?

A graphical image of a user, intended to make the computing or network
environment a friendlier place.

How do I change the order of the pictures I have uploaded to my album?

To change the order of your pictures just drag and drop them in the order
you wish them to be viewed.

How and when do I use the cropping filter?

You will be automatically directed to the cropping filter whenever it is
necessary to alter the image size.

To use the filter choose which area you would like to display, by dragging
the corners, to decrease or expand, the size of the highlighted box.The
highlighted box represents the area of the image that will be displayed
on your profile. You can change the area that is highlighted by dragging
and dropping the whole box to the position you prefer.

How do I make changes to any of the information I have entered
in regard to my pictures?

Making any change is simple just click on Edit Album / Edit Picture
and re-enter the information that you require

How do I make my photos viewable on my profile?

When you have finished uploading your photos, click on your Images
tab to be taken to your album display and click Show On Profile beside
the album you wish to be visible on your profile.

wish, this will create a constant slideshow of your images to represent
yourself on your profile.

Videos

How do I upload a video?

To upload a video click on Edit Profile and then select the Videos tab,
enter a video Title and Description in the boxes provided. Select your
video from You Tube and highlight the embed code, copy it and paste
it back into the Url / Embed box provided and click Save.

How do I make my video viewable on my profile?

When you have finished uploading your video click on Show on Profile.

regard to my videos?

Making any change is simple just click on Edit Video and re-enter the
information that you require.

Discography

How do I enter my discography?

To enter your discography information you need to click on Edit Profile
and then on Discography.Enter all relevant information in the boxes
provided - you do not need to enter track numbers as these will be
automatically implemented each time you press the return key.

To upload your album / single sleeve - choose an image file from
your hard drive and upload where required. When you have finished
click Save.

How do I make my discography visible on my profile?

Once you have saved all the information you wish to display for each
release on your profile click Show on Profile.

How do I add a track to my saved release?

Click Add Track next to your saved release and enter into the drop
down box provided.

How do I make changes to any of the information I have entered in
regard to my discography?

Making any change is simple just click on Edit and re-enter the
information that you require.

How do I delete a release from my saved discography information?
Next to the release you wish to remove click Delete.

News

How do I enter news about my Act / DJ / Label / Venue?

In order to make full use of promotional opportunity within Rivmixx you
will want to display your latest news. To do this, firstly click Edit Profile
and then the News tab.Enter a Title / headline in the box provided and an
Extract/ sub-headline in the box provided. Next, enter your news story in
the 'Content' box provided. Your title and extract should be limited to 35
lowercase characters. Uppercase characters count as two lowercase.

Choose and upload a picture to support your news story by selecting a
picture from your hard drive and uploading where requested. You must
enter a Published At date before saving your article.If you wish your
news story to be visible on your profile page then click the box.When
all information is entered, click Save.

How do I edit the information I have entered in to my news?

Making any change is simple, just click on Edit and re-enter the
information that you require.

How do I delete an article from my saved news information?

Next to the release you wish to remove click Delete.

I have already successfully entered two news articles into
my news feed,I cannot save my third article, what is wrong?

To reduce the risk of spamming we've limited the number of
articles each user can feed to two articles every seven days.

Blog

How do I enter my blog information?

To enter a blog you must firstly click on Edit Profile and then on the
Blog tab. From here you can enter a Title/headline in the box provided
and an Extract/sub-headline in the boxes provided. You can then enter
your blog in the Content box provided.Choose and upload a picture to
support your blog by selecting a picture from your hard drive and
uploading where requested.Enter any relevant links to your blog in
the box provided. When you have finished click Save.

How do I share my blog with my friends / fans / other users?

Your blog will be viewable from both your profile and from a
users MyMixx page, which collates all news, blogs and music
from each user's favourite artists, providing fans with their
own music magazine.

Events

How do I promote my latest event?

To notify fans about an upcoming event, click on Edit Profile and
then on the Events tab.Select your event’s date from the drop
down menu provided and enter a Title/headline in the box provided
and an Extract/sub-headline in the box provided. Enter all relevant
information about your event into the relevant box.

Choose and upload a picture to support your event by selecting a
picture from your hard drive and uploading where requested, once
you have finished, click Save.

How do I edit the information I've entered into my saved event
information?

Making any change is simple, just click on Edit and re-enter
the information that you require.

How do I delete an event from my saved information?

Next to the event you wish to remove click Delete.

How I do share my event with my friends / fans / other users?

All your events will be viewable from your profile page and
will also be displayed to each of your friends and fans.

Upload File

What can I do with this feature?

In using Upload File you can send a file up to 300MB to any email
address and receive confirmation that the file has been sent.

My file is more than 300MB, can I still send it?

You can send the file by converting it to a .zip file, thus
compressing the file.

How do I convert my file to a .zip file?

To create a .zip file, right-click a file, such as Example.doc,and then
click a command on the shortcut menu, such as Add to Zip file or Add
to Archive, to create Example.zip. Often the zip utility shortcut menu
also includes a command such as 'Configure' or 'Options' to access the
zip utility's option settings.

Are there any limitations to the type of file that can be zipped?

The file types, which reduce most dramatically through zipping, are
text,.doc, .xls, and graphics files that use non-compressed file types,
such as .bmp. Some other graphic files, such as .jpg and .gif, already
use compression therefore the reduction in size will be minimal.

I have a (zipped) file less than 300MB, how do I use this feature
to send it?

To send your file click Edit Profile and Send File, choose and upload your
file from your hard drive where requested. Enter a description in the box
provided and the address of the person you wish to receive your file in the
Recipient box provided.

Click the Notify Uploader box to receive confirmation of sent mail and
click Upload.

Upload Music

How do I upload my music?

If you are not a member of a music society, such as MCPS, then
you may upload individual music files from your hard drive.To do
this,firstly click Edit Profile and Upload Music. Then enter a Title
in the box provided.

Choose and upload your file from your hard drive where requested.
Then choose and upload an image to support your track by selecting
an image file from your hard drive and uploading where requested.
Then click Save. Once you have done this a music player will
automatically appear on your profile.

If you are a member of a music society, such as MCPS then you are
required to embed an external player, such as a Beatport player.
Do this by copy and pasting the embed code from the music player
site into the box provided and then click Save.

How do I delete a track from my saved tracks?

Next to the relevant track click Delete

The Site

I have entered all my relevant information, how do I use the site's
other features?

MENU BAR

The Menu Bar enables you to navigate the site easily you can access
all main sections of the contents, plus the Artist / DJ / Label / Venue
directories here.

CONTENTS

The Contents page displays a more in-depth overview of what we include
in our magazine. Here you will find Reviews, Features, Genre News and
much more.

GENRE NEWS

Our Genre News section allows you to view RSS Feeds from across the web,
separated into genre verticals to make it as easy as possible for you to
find the news you are most interested in.

MY PROFILE

Your profile is where all your entered information is visible to other users.
You can use this resource to promote yourself and your work. Other users will
be able to view your forthcoming events, blogs, biography and discography, as
well as watching your videos and listening to your tracks through the page. By
clicking on another user you will be navigated to view their profile too.

MY MESSAGES

This is your inbox; here you can receive messages from any of your friends. To
view your messages just click on My Messages. You can also access your outbox
through this feature.

How do I send a message to another user?

Once you've found the page of the user you wish to message, click Message
Me and a pop up box will appear. Enter a subject in the box provided and
your content in the message box provided. Once you have finished click Send.
