A MUSIC AND KNICK KNACK TARDIS (in fact a bric or brack shop to some)
As we witness the demise of the actual physical CD and vinyl let us not forget the wonders of its mothership the record shop. You walk in, stalk your prey, look for the record that interests you new or old and then you silently weigh up the costs i.e. the rent in your head over the purchase. Ok well maybe not but theres something about a record shop that i love. Especially when it comes to finding new old music (breaks) its the uncertainty the not knowing, the anticipation the smell of musty vinyl, the allure of an interesting cover, the threat of someone else grabbing your record if you put it down. The memory check you go through when you come across something that you think you know about, the vexation at not being able to listen due to there being no turntables. But nothing beats finding a record you like for relative peanuts.
i salute you record shops. i salute you even tho the ship is sinking. You were the best.
